Many of us have a fear of going to the dentist. For the most part this fear is unfounded. Many think that they will be in intense pain from the procedures that they will have to go through when they’re in the dental chair.
For the most part, most dental procedures are painless. The dental patient is given medications to reduce or eliminate pain for any procedures that would produce pain. The one thing that still makes me uncomfortable in the dentist’s office is the sound of the drill and there’s not really much that can be done about that unless you receive a procedure that can take the place of drilling.
If you do have problems with your teeth and are afraid to go to the dentist, please try to get over your fear and make an appointment. The pain that you may have to go through by not going to the dentist can be much greater than the perceived pain that you will probably not have to go through by actually going to the dentist.
